Overview The Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are repairing the pavement on Interstate 8 between milepost 71 and 82, near Aztec or approximately 35 miles west of Gila Bend. The work consists of removing the existing pavement surface and replacing it with new asphalt concrete.This project is now complete - July 2023.
