So I think I found the reason behind the black screen that occurs every time I press the 'play' button in the launcher menu. What I did is that I tried changing the refresh rate of my 300 Hz monitor to 60 Hz (which sucks) but it works. I also have to enabled the windowed+boderless or else it won't work. Further into the quest when you get to the commhub room, it may glitch again. The inhabitants are supposed to respond to your arrival. I think there could be an element of randomness about who responds and how. For me out of 4 tries, 1 worked. After getting the last fallout 4 update, my game gets stuck just after the initial starting scree, and just read "Syncing data for Fallout 4". The percentage bar has only gotten as high as 2%, and hasn't moved at all in the last half hour. I've tried loading offline, but that only gave me access to saves from when the game first came out.
